Why do I need to pay for this service?

Compare the market sites are all free, but they make their money through payouts from the energy companies themselves. We are powered by our members, not by energy firms. Trafero is a completely independent  broker, we do not accept payments, kickbacks or any commissions from any companies. This means that we are able to search the entire market to find you the absolute best available deals without any pressure or rankings from any company.

What do I need to Sign Up?

To sign up, you’ll just need to give us a little information about you, your home and your current energy use. You’ll get the most accurate savings estimate by giving precise information, so it’s  easiest to sign up with your annual bill at hand. Why do comparison sites have different prices?

Comparison sites are technically marketplaces for Retailers, as they are allowed to negotiate their own prices with the companies they feature - on the condition that the company isn't allowed to make prices on comparisons higher than they would be on its own website. And as these negotiations are separate, Retailers sometimes quote different prices on different comparison sites.
Plus, comparison sites don't feature exactly the same Retailers. So it could be that what one comparison site shows you is not the same as another. 
At Trafero we search the entire market, we don't have deals with any Retailer and we don't differentiate between them.  Our first priority is you, our customer and we try our best to find you the best deal.

How does supplier auto switching work?

Supplier auto switching works by automatically finding and switching your energy supplier to the best deal available, saving you time and money. It involves monitoring the energy market and making the switch on your behalf without any hassle on your end.
1. When we find a new deal, we ask the new supplier to sign you up. The new supplier will then contact you and send you their contract in your email. 
2. Sign your new contract and return it to your new supplier.
3. Your old supplier  will get notified that you have switched and issue your last invoice and then will close your account. 
4. Your new supplier takes over, so you can enjoy your new deal and savings.

Do I need a Direct Debit setup?

In order for the switch to happen seamlessly, yes you will need a Direct Debit setup with your current supplier.  Your new supplier will use the same details for your new contract

Can I sign up to a green tariff?

Of course! Our filters include renewable electricity and green tariffs. We’ll monitor the market for the cheapest deals and switch you over once we find the best one. Economical and sustainable, what’s not to love!

Will my electricity supply be interrupted during the auto switching process?

During the auto switching process, your electricity supply will not be interrupted. The transition between energy suppliers is seamless, ensuring a continuous and uninterrupted power supply to your premises.

Who should I contact in case of a power outage?

In the event of a power outage, you should contact your  electricity distribution company (E-Redes). They are responsible with the electricity supply and will assist you in resolving the issue and restoring your power supply as quickly as possible.

Having a Smart Meter is  a requirement for Auto switching, this will allow the switching process to run smoothly and will let you benefit from personalized market searches where all the best deals available are based on your consumption.
